With more than 70 years of combined experience representing clients throughout
northern Virginia, the attorneys at Taylor Huguley Powers PLLC have navigated hundreds of family law
clients
through some of life’s most difficult challenges and protected what they valued most. We have a
comprehensive
understanding of family law in all its many aspects and are committed to providing effective legal advice
and
zealous advocacy, whether in negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
More importantly, we understand there is another dimension to
representing family
law clients
equally important to knowledge of the law – the personal touch. We know each client’s desires and fears are
unique, each family is special, and each case is different from the last. Because there are no cookie-cutter
answers, we work diligently with our clients to formulate the best strategy to achieve their goals and then
guide them through the process from start to finish.
Our family law attorneys are well-respected within the legal
community and
recognized by our
peers and others for our dedication to the practice of family law and the legal community. We frequently
moderate or present lectures at legal education seminars for divorce litigators and other attorneys, author
materials for those seminars, and write journal articles.
When you are ready to move forward with your family law issue, contact us to
schedule your
confidential consultation. We will have a compassionate yet candid conversation about what is most important
to you, what you can expect, and how we can help you achieve your goals. The path we create together will be
specially tailored to your values, needs, and priorities.
Who We Represent
We represent people from every age group, gender, cultural background, profession,
and walk
of life. Our family law clients include stay-at-home spouses, married parents, unmarried parents, and
same-sex couples; small business owners and corporate executives; handymen, general contractors,
architects, and engineers; accountants, veterinarians, and healthcare and mental health providers;
attorneys and other legal professionals; childcare providers, teachers, college professors, and other
educational professionals; military servicemembers and military spouses; and all levels of government
employees. Some of our clients are in their twenties, who are just starting out in life and do not know how
they will make ends meet; some are in their seventies and facing divorce in their retirement; and others
fall somewhere in between. We negotiate and litigate with the same fervor for our clients whether the value
of the marital estate is a few thousand or tens of millions of dollars. We know that each case is important
to the person living through it, and we treat each client with respect, dignity, and compassion.
